Start right with a healthy eating plan
The best way to lose weight is to eat healthy and begin an exercise program that includes cardiovascular and strength training. It is important to do both because cardiovascular exercise burns calories and fat, while strength training adds lean muscle mass.
So what does it mean to eat healthy? There are so many quick weight-loss scams that promise instant success. If you see a diet that promises more than 2 pounds of weight loss per week, be suspicious.
Do the math: One pound of weight loss is a 500 calorie deficit per day and 2 pounds of weight loss is a 1,000 calorie deficit per day. That means if you were eating 2,000 calories to maintain your weight, in order to lose 2 pounds a week you must now eat 1,000 calories (or increase your physical activity).
